From One To The Other...

I have been waiting. And waiting and waiting for the gladiator trend to get over. I bought a pair of them about a year ago from mochi in bangalore and I, being my cranky, fusspot, miserly self refuse to buy another one even though those shoes are practically falling of my feet. So I'm  waiting for this never ending trend to curl up and die and for the fashion houses of the world to bring forth, new and utterly delectable shoes.Well the world has finally taken pity on me and given me the chance to tell all of you about the new shoe craze....And the winners are..... WEDGE HEELS! It's probably not official yet, not that I would know as I am sadly out of touch with current affairs( are you sure Manmohan Singh is the prime minister??) but by the amount of wedges I saw when I went to lunch today( yes, i did mange to eat at Set'z!) I'm pretty darn sure that wedges are the new 'IT' thing. If you need further proof, visit the Jimmy Choo site and... Viola! The pre- fall collection is just wedge after wedge after wedge. Now that gladiators have fizzled out( MUAHAHA!!) I shall troop of to the nearest( and cheapest ) store and buy myself a pair of wedges( if only I wasn't broke!)
Here are some very unclear pictures of my sort-of wedges...

So those are my wedges but unfortunately they're lace -ups which are bloody uncomfortable...
maybe in a month or two..( more likely a year!) I can afford to get another pair...!

Makeover Madness( I know, I know, V.V. boring title, but my brain is thouroughly exhausted)

My two ballistic friends, who refuse to be mentioned ( sadly) came over today and we went even more ballistic cooking wayyy too oily pasta and cold coffee with choco squiggles.

The highlight of the day was ultimately our BIGG gossip session, where we TRIED really , really hard to give one unmentionable friend a makeover to get her crush drooling at her heels.Unfortunately she drew the line at KAJAL.. i mean , kajal??? seriously?? Shame on you, unmentionable friend.

to bring things back to a more general topic, HIMYM season 6 is officially over and the season finale is just too cute! for people who have'nt watched it yet check it out on watch-series.com.
Even if HIMYM is over , Glee and Modern Family have started and if your still too impatient to wait 24 hours before you see the next episode check it out on the same site mentioned above. ooohh and the coup de grace has to be that gossip girl season 4 has FINALLY started! Yay! Ofcourse if your sitting at home, procrastinating over the piles of holiday homework lying on your desk,( like me) then I suggest a whole day with a bowl of popcorn, ots of chocolate and your laptop! Au revoir, ma cherie!!

Joy Luck Moon ....... Is It All That??

It was friday, and I had rapturously found out that my summer vacation had been extended till the 11th. In the manner of celebrating,my mom and I dragged ourselves out of the house and to Select Citywalk in Saket. After having had only a strawberry yogurt for breakfast I was ravenously hungry by the time we reached the restraunt in question..... Joy Luck Moon. The dining area was small and cosy and the whole room was decorated in red and black. The staff was reasonably friendly, and the food arrived fast. Our starter was a thai lemon grass salad with prawn. The spicyness of the dressing and the sharp taste of the lemon grass balanced the flavours well, though it made my eyes water with the heat of the dish. The prawns did not look like normal prawns,as they were a bit disfigured but exeedingly juicy and succulent. We were leaning towards thai cuisine and so our main course consisted of a thai green chicken curry, schezwan prawn with green onion and chilli and a bowl of sticky rice. The green curry both looked and tasted dissapointing as the  curry was not altogether green but more of a grayish colour and  the flavours were subtle, too subtle in my opinion. The schezwan prawns were a bit better as the prawns were big and tasty . The semi curry was like any schezwan I have tasted and was nothing worth mentioning. Overall I think the salad was the highlight of our meal and I highly recommend it .
Next week( if I can convince my parents) I will be dining at Setz, that gloriously high profile restraunt where I once happened to glimpse Karan Johar across the crowded room. Now THAT was a meal to remember!
